Shoring wall reinforcement was needed to finish construction of a subterranean testing facility. The ultimate challenge was that the installation location was the interior of a large, older, high use building.
Strategy and Action
Twenty 5.5″ micropiles were installed to a depth of 16′ to act as soldier piles for the remaining construction of a shoring wall on the interior of the building. This project required the Shore crew to walk the drill rig 350′ through the building, snaking around sensitive work stations and narrow hallways to reach the destined drill location. The job was completed over 5 nights and the rig was moved in and out during the weekends to allow clients business to go uninterrupted.
